Asst. Prof. Dr. Veronika Zavratnik

Veronika Zavratnik was born in 1990 in Ptuj, Slovenia. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, with a thesis on the understanding of local ethnographic collections in the context of local communities. She completed her MA studies at the same faculty in 2014, specialising in material culture studies. In 2024, she completed her PhD with the dissertation Footwear in everyday life: A study in material culture.

From 2018 to 2020, she worked as a researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in the Laboratory for Telecommunications. Since 2019 she has been working at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and between 2021 and 2023 she also worked as a researcher at the Institute for Innovation and Development of University of Ljubljana.

She is the editor-in-chief of the journal Svetovi/Worlds.
