Tch. Asst. Dr. Tina Ivnik

Tina Ivnik is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. In 2019, she began working in the same department as a junior researcher and teaching assistant. In 2023, she completed her PhD with the dissertation Transformations of the Cultural Landscape of the Natisone Valleys After World War II. She is currently employed on the ERC project DEGENCY (ERC no. 101095729), exploring the agency of the dead among spiritual people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Her research interests include environmental anthropology, alternative spiritualities, the role of the dead, local identities, and the transformation of rural communities. For her PhD, she conducted long-term fieldwork research in Natisone Valleys, a pre-alpine area of North-Eastern Italy, while she is currently focusing on Bosnia and Hercegovina.
