Students will get acquainted with historical, geopolitical and cultural background of Taiwan. The content will be focused on relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, both within historical and contemporary context. Cognizance of both the structural and concrete implications of these complex relations is vital for a broader and deeper understanding of the Chinese cultural-linguistic region and is therefore an important aspect of the sinological studies in general.
