This lecture will review the methodological approaches, challenges, and unexpected in the author's research for her book, Imagining Slovene Socialist Modernity: The Urban Redesign of Ljubljana's Beloved Trnovo Neighborhood, 1951-1989 (Purdue University Press, 2023). The talk will focus on archival and ethnographic research methodology.
Veronica E. Aplenc received her Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania in the Graduate Program in Folklore and Folklife. Her research has focused on the architectural history, vernacular architecture, historic preservation, and the everyday under socialism in Slovenia.
